A six-hour webinar for dog trainers and behaviourists delivered by trauma informed Clinical Animal Behaviourists, Danielle Beck and Gemma Stephens from Control the Meerkat.
The webinar will be a deep dive into:
– Understanding the unconscious learning involved with desensitization,
– How to use this principle to build connection and trust,
– Understanding the impact of arousal and sensitisation when doing reactive dog stooge work,
– Practical ways to implement and emotion centred approach to behaviour modification.

About the presenters:
Danielle Beck
Danielle Beck is known mostly for her enthusiasm and passion.She has specialised in dog reactivity and trauma for over twenty years, and is the creator of the Trauma in Animals Conference and Control the Meerkat. She is dedicated to improving the welfare of animals by discussing the inner workings of their brain, and how that impacts their day to day life.
Danielle Beck PGDip/MSc ABTC-CAB/ATI is an Animal Behaviour Consultant based in Greater Manchester, UK. Danielle is a qualified Animal Behaviour Consultant and possess the necessary and relevant academic qualifications, which are backed up by over 18 years of practical experience, allowing her to practise, as an animal behaviourist. She is a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Councillors and specialises in aggression and trauma. Danielle is also a Registered Animal Training Instructor and full member of PACT (Professional Association of Canine Trainers).
Danielle is an enthusiastic, passionate and empathetic person and understands the turmoil owners face when living with dogs that have experienced trauma. The theoretical knowledge and practical experience enable her to successfully rehabilitate dogs and coach owners through behavioural challenges.
Gemma Stephens:
Gemma is owner & head clinical animal behaviourist & trainer for Natures Companions. Gemma has been working with dog behaviour & training since 2008.
She has a BSc Hons in Animal Behaviour & Welfare from the University of Chester, and is a professionally assessed full member of the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC) as a Clinical Animal Behaviourist . Gemma is also a full member of the Professional Association of Canine Trainers (PACT) and is listed with them on the ABTC register as an Animal Training Instructor.
She specialises in all dog behaviour cases including everything from general behaviour issues & annoyances all the way to extreme trauma & aggression based cases.
